The GTA 40 is the first professional battery-operated pruner from STIHL. This tool, which is a component of the AS System and is powered by two AS 2 lithium-ion batteries, can be used both on the ground and in the air. Perfect for professional horticultural and landscaping work, tree and shrub maintenance, wood processing on building sites, working in tree canopies and crown reduction jobs.
Clean cutting is made possible by the strong EC engine and ¼" PM3 saw chain, and the variable chain speed gives you complete control over the cutting speed while you're using it. The GTA 40 also features a tool-free chain oil tank with enough capacity to accommodate six AS 2 batteries, as well as a sprocket cover with side-mounted chain tensioning and automated chain lubrication. During use, a soft rubberised handle and upper grip aid to keep you from slipping. The upper grip region and the cutting attachment are separated by the claw-shaped deflector at the top of the tool. Please note that the GTA40 was made to be used with two hands. Because the tool has rockers on both sides, it can be used by both left-handed and right-handed users. Whether operating on the ground or in the air, you may easily reach the tool by hooking it onto a belt using an attachment ring. The GTA 40 holster is also offered for convenient access while working. The GTA 40 comes with a hardcase that may be used to carry the tool around. It has room for up to six AS 2 batteries and an AL 5-2 high-speed charger.
Two AS-2 batteries are used in the GTA 40, and they are discharged in parallel. The tool cannot be used with only one battery. The tool's charge level indicator is situated in an easily readable location on the top of the device. In 50 minutes, you may swiftly recharge two AS 2 batteries at once using the included AL 5-2 high-speed charger.

Side Mounted Chain Tensioning - Side-mounted chain tensioning allows for protected, easy and quick chain tensioning and replacement. The tensioning screw is inserted laterally through the sprocket cover.
Tool Free Oil Tank - Thanks to the soft grip on the control handle, the chainsaw sits comfortably in the hand and can be operated safely. In addition, the users grip is improved by the soft material, which helps when using the chainsaw in wet conditions.
LED Charge-Level Indicator - At the push of a button, the LED charge-level indicator will show the battery’s remaining capacity. This allows you to efficiently plan working hours and charge the battery in good time.
Hanging Eye & Overload Ring - To secure the GTA 40 against falling during climbing work, the overload ring can be attached to the climbing harness.
Captive Nuts - When changing the cutting attachment, you will not risk losing the nuts on the sprocket.
Constant Power - When using other brands of battery tools, the performance can sometimes decrease during work as the battery discharges. This isn't the case with STIHL battery-powered tools. Thanks to the intelligent electronics, your tool will work with consistently high power across the entire battery charge, until there is no energy left in the battery.
